"Diaspora,"is my love letter for my ancestors. Every song, from its title, subtle, yet coded in meaning, is a portrait of the beauty within the sadness. Truth is often an ugly inconvenience, for those who choose complacency over solidarity. The inequities of America thrive upon, ignoring the past. It's within these conversations no one wants to have. Resistance isn't futile. It is a much needed, necessary step, towards a better way. I have an ugly past, just like this country. I had to move forward.Look at myself in the mirror, and change my ways. Demons inside of me aren't going anywhere anytime soon, until they are properly addressed. I challenge America to do the same....
